The Charter School trend continues in Georgia as systems decide whether or not to embrace the Charter system, stay with the status quo or choose an Investing in Education Excellence contract, all ahead of the June 30 state mandated deadline. In this case, the Peach County BOE, which serves a county of about 28k, chose to move to a Charter School system.
The county has only 6 schools and officials report that the Charter system allows greater control over the academic vision and needs of the students. More information can be found here.
